Arriving in Havana, clearing customs and immigration is a process that will take approximately 1 hour. You will be greeted by your guide and driver outside of the baggage claim area. Your escort will be your guide for the duration of your time in Cuba and will manage all aspects of the tour program; cultural activities, artist studio visits, baseball games, visits to cigar and rum factories and classic convertible tours. Other special activities can also be arranged by your guide to suit your interests, holiday schedule and individual/group preferences.

10:00 am___ Begin a walking tour of Havana Vieja (Old Havana). Please wear comfortable shoes! Thanks in part to history and ideology, Cuba — and especially Havana — is a treasure trove of architectural styles spanning six centuries. With buildings dating from the 16th through the 19th centuries, Havana is perhaps the most authentic colonial city in the Americas. Since 1982, when the city became a UNESCO World Heritage site, the government has embarked on an ambitious preservation and restoration program concentrated in the Old City. However, a severe lack of funding and materials has hampered efforts.
As a result, the decay and neglect of the past 40 years coupled with destructive tropical weather continues to claim buildings every year. Visiting Plaza Vieja will bring you to the oldest plaza in Havana, dating from the 16th century. Learn about the massive historic preservation program which began in this Plaza under the leadership of City Historian, Eusebio Leal.
Stroll through the Plaza de San Francisco, a cobbled plaza surrounded by buildings dating from the 18th century, dominated by the baroque Iglesia and Convento de San Francisco dating from 1719.
Visit Fototeca, the leading photographic guild in Cuba and the most prestigious venue for showcasing work from leading Cuban photographers.
Visit the Plaza de Armas, a scenic tree-lined plaza formerly at the center of influence in Cuba. It is surrounded by some of the most historic structures in Havana as well as important monuments. Quick stop at the Taller de Grafica Experimental located on the Plaza de la Catedral. The Taller is more than Havana’s printmaking workshop. It is a studio, a school and most of all, an art institution that preserves and develops the sophisticated art of print making.

3 :00 pm___ Tour & drinks at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba overlooking the Straits of Florida and the Malecón. When it opened in 1930, Cuba was a prime travel destination for many illustrious guests including Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, John Wayne, Marlene Dietrich, Marlon Brando, and Ernest Hemingway.

8:30 am ___ Meet at your lodging location and depart for a day trip to Viñales Valley. Considered by many to be the most beautiful place in Cuba, the Viñales Valley National Monument holds stunning landscapes and jaw dropping vistas. The area is also famous for being the premier tobacco growing area in the world. This is a photographer’s paradise!
11:30 am___ Stop at Montesinos’ Tobacco Plantation. Montesinos is the largest producer of Cohiba leaves. Enjoy a tour through the plantation and the leaf-drying houses.
1:00 pm ___ Arrive to Viñales town. After a brief history of the town, you will enjoy the most traditional countryside lunch at the farm of Tono&Pitu. The tour will continue from this point by car taking you to El Despalillo, for a tour in the production process of a Cuban premium cigar.
It’s time for a refreshing break at Mural de La Prehistoria for the best local Piña Colada.
4:15 pm___ Return to Havana City.
8:30 pm___ Dinner at restaurant El Cocinero. This chic and elegant bar & restaurant is located in a converted olive oil factory. It is part of a conglomerate of upscale restaurants that opened two years ago when restrictions were lifted that limited private enterprise in Cuba. It is considered a world-class establishment popular with Cubans, diplomats and foreigners alike.
Optional: Visit Fabrica de Arte Cuba.This former tramway power plant located in the Vedado neighborhood was built in the beginning of the 20th century and features the most current collaborative art projects in Havana.

12:00 am ___Visit Museo de La Revolución. This beautiful building positioned just in front of the entrance of the Havana Bay welcomes all those visiting Cuba. Once the Presidential Palace of Cuba from where presidents ruled Cuba before 1959, it has since been transformed into the Museum of the Revolution after the triumph showcasing a vast number of artefacts from the History of the Revolution. It is among the best places to understand the history of Cuba from 1959 to the ‘90s.

2:30 pm ____ Visit the Arts & Crafts Market of San Jose. A wonderful place in the Bay of Havana for fine souvenirs from Cuba.
8:30 pm ____ Farewell dinner at Rio Mar located at La Puntilla in Miramar. Take in a majestic view of the bay and Havana Skyline from the terrace.
